ITI Technical College Offers an Internship/Externship Program with Its Construction Management Degree

0

ITI Technical College in Baton Rouge offers an exciting option to go along with its Construction Management Degree Program. Instead of taking some elective courses, students can enroll in the Internship/Externship program to gain work-related experience while in school. Most assignments last a minimum of 120 hours up to the end of students’ graduation periods.

Here’s how it works and how it will help you further your education and career. Qualified students will enroll in the program and work for a local company related to their degree major. It is designed to help them be successful in their career and form the foundation of a better life for themselves and their families. Students must:

  • Be halfway through the Construction Management Program
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Be in good standing in the program and college
  • Complete any pre-employment testing per the prospective employer

Once all these requirements are underway, students will work a minimum of 120 hours or longer, depending on the individual company. Click here and go to the bottom of the page for more details.

Don’t worry about coordinating your school schedule with the employer. Participating businesses understand they need to work around class schedules. Students work with the Career Services Advisor and Program Instructors to set up a schedule of classes and work.

There is another option for some students already working in a full-time or part-time job. It’s possible to use your current employment as elective credit. To do so, contact the Career Services Advisor to go over the requirements. An Internship/Externship is a positive and rewarding step to add to an Associate Degree in our Construction Management Program.
